Caleb Balbuena is the head pitching instructor here at the Power Plant. He is also the founder/owner of Caught Stealing LLC, a baseball training technology company revolutionizing player development through innovative hardware and mobile applications.
Caleb was originally drafted in the seventh-round of the 1997 draft by the Baltimore Orioles but instead chose to compete at Long Beach State, where he ultimately reached the College World Series. He was later drafted by the Seattle Mariners, launching a ten-year professional career within both the Mariners and Colorado Rockies organizations.
Shortly after his professional career ended, Caleb transitioned to coaching, where he's built a 23-year career as a private pitching coach alongside four years in professional and collegiate roles. He spent two seasons as a professional pitching coach, one year as a professional manager, and two years coaching at the collegiate level, where he guided his program to back-to-back state championships for the first time in school history.
Caleb's proven player development system has propelled five athletes to Major League Baseball, secured four draft selections, produced multiple free-agent signings, and placed more than 50 players at four-year colleges, primarily in Division I programs on scholarship. Today, Caleb utilizes his extensive network of over 50 college programs, local scouts, and player agents to facilitate professional opportunities and provide comprehensive advancement guidance for the next generation of athletes.
