Andrew Knapp

Andrew Knapp is the head catching instructor and a hitting instructor at the Power Plant.

Andrew is a former Major League Baseball catcher and 12-year professional with experience across multiple MLB organizations, including the Philadelphia Phillies, San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers, Houston Astros, Detroit Tigers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Seattle Mariners organizations. A versatile switch hitter, Knapp built his career on adaptability, high-level game awareness, and a deep understanding of both sides of the plate.

Originally drafted out of high school by the Oakland Athletics, he chose to attend University of California, Berkeley, where he developed into one of the top players in the country. In 2013, he was selected 53rd overall in the MLB Draft by the Phillies, launching a professional career defined by consistency, preparation, and leadership behind the plate.

Throughout his career, Andrew worked with elite players and coaches at every level of the game, gaining a unique perspective on player development, hitting approach, and game strategy from behind the plate. Now at The Power Plant, he brings that experience to the next generation—helping athletes refine their skills, build confidence, and train with purpose in a high-performance environment.
